The Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to bring some rock n roll to the halftime show at the Super Bowl in New Jersey next month. The NFL released a statement confirming that the Grammy-winning group will be joining headliner Bruno Mars on stage during Mars much-anticipated performance. The news was first announced during the Saturday Fox broadcast of the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks game.
According to "The Hollywood Reporter," the Chili Peppers were already scheduled to be in the area, performing at a pre-Super Bowl show at the Barclays Center the night before the game. It has yet to revealed whether or not the group will play its own songs, or back Bruno for his set.
The Super Bowl is set to air on February 2nd on Fox.
